I have had a long career working in the NHS with life limiting and life threatening illness. I worked in Oncology for almost 30 years investigating, planning and delivering cancer treatments. While working as a Therapy Radiographer I became qualified as a Counsellor and offered psychological support to patients, carers and families of people with cancer.
I furthered my psychological support training by leaving radiotherapy and working in the NHS in a Health Psychology setting. Here I learned to support people with a variety of different life limiting or life threatening illnesses, other than cancer. I also promoted good health practices such as stopping smoking and weight control. I have worked with the NHS, and cancer charities such as Macmillan and Penny Brohn, as well as being associated with licenced fertility clinics in the UK offering supportive and theraputic counselling.
I studied counselling at Bristol University. I am also a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist. I trained with the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy in partnership with the University West London.
I have been an indepentant practitioner for over ten years and I can now offer appointments in Cirencester and Cheltenham clinics. However please contact me to talk about your indivual circumstances with regard to appointments.
I believe that with a little help and the right support, perspective and balance can return to your life.
